Drivers for next generation low power displays

Dialog Semiconductor is working with the leading developers of next generation displays providing driver solutions able to support the ultra low power capabilities of emerging display technologies.

We have developed a range of advanced driver technologies for low power display applications - from OLEDs, to E-Ink and MEMs displays.

All our display drivers are highly integrated and are manufactured on the latest mixed signal high voltage CMOS process and can be offered in bumped die or packages (where appropriate).

We use the latest design techniques and rich portfolio of intellectual property developed over the years, including low-power high voltage charge pumps with:

• Best-in-class dynamic current matching
• State-of-the-art analogue trimming
• Use of standard CMOS process technology
• High voltage CMOS drive capability

Real-time 2D to 3D video and still image conversion

Dialog Semiconductor is enabling low power portable devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs to have instant access to unlimited 3D content with no need for glasses.

Our patent pending technology converts, in real-time, 2D image data provided by the system’s host applicaton processor and outputs 3D data direct to the systems display driver without loading the host applicaton processor and without any additional system memory.

The technology integrates drivers for parallax barrier displays, which synchronises control with the 3D pixel data, providing users with beautifully rendered 3D video and still images direct from the display without the need for special 3D glasses.
